Llac de les Abelletes

Leaving the base of the chairlift del Coll dels Isards in Grandvalira (Pas de la Casa), with a walk of less than an hour, which does not reach one kilometre and a 120 m slope, you will have reach l’Estany de les Abelletes.
This lake is very special, since it is a border between France and Andorra.
It is located at the head water basin of the river Pas de la Casa (whose waters flow into Garona), and it is a place well known by fishermen thanks to its population of trout and salmon.
It is a high mountain lake of considerable dimensions, 800 m above the limit of the trees. The silence here is deafening.
