Meritxell picnic area
CANILLO.
Meritxell picnic area is located in a wide, flat and quiet area with tables, barbecues and nice views.
Before the construction of the Canillo road, the path to this picnic area was the only access that existed to reach Canillo from Meritxell. This is why this royal road has millenary stories, for example, that it was the road where Charlemagne passed with his army.
On this same road, you can find the ancient seven-pointed cross, or seven-armed. It is related to a popular legend that we encourage you to search and read it.
To get to this picnic area, we have to walk for about 15 minutes. You can access there from the church of Meritxell or from the village of Prats.
