Pont romànic d'Engordany
ESCALDES-ENGORDANY
The Romanesque bridge d’Engordany, of medieval origin, was made of stone and with a single arch, it was built in 1785. It is located over the Valira d’Orient river and its function is (was) to join the population of Escaldes and Engordany. Its structure has a small wall, and its special singularity is the great asymmetry due to the difference in level that exists between the two ends of the bridge. Take a selfie from the TURS on the new bridge of l’Avinguda Coprincep de Gaulle, you will see the whole arch of the bridge, Engolasters at the top of the mountain, the Tyssen museum in your right and the church of Sant Pere Martir is behind you. You are in the center of Escaldes.
