ENCAMP
Welcome to the Llac d’Engolasters. This lake is the perfect place to disconnect, stroll or even have a picnic, all in an exceptional landscape.
Enjoy a flat walk around the lake, where you can also find, apart from some restaurant, a system of games that work with water for the little ones to have fun operating mechanisms with water pump.
The legend says that witches used to bathe in it, although now it would be forbidden.
During the night it seems that the lake swallows the stars and this is where its name comes from (romantic version) or "engol" muddy place in old Catalan (etymological version).
Today it collects the water from the aquifer system of the Madriu valley to channel to the first hydroelectric plant in Andorra, that is still in operation.
Do not hesitate to walk along the path of the Pardines where we will find small botanical gardens with Pyrinean plants, small waterfalls, and we will enjoy magnificent views of Encamp.
